About
Thank you for visiting my website and taking a look at my photographs. The connection with others is important to me.
Frequently I stray from photographic norms and expectations to create extremely large, razor sharp, vivid panoramic works on canvas. I also create black and white images using darkroom chemistry and printing on true silver gelatin paper; this process more accurately reflects the elegant nuances of greys found between the extremes of black and white.
In the past, I have operated wedding and portrait studios in Wilmington, N. C., and Rocky Mount, N. C. Visitors to eastern and central North Carolina can view my signed, limited edition landscapes and cityscape images at Riverwalk Gallery and Arts Center in Washington, N. C., and Framing Fox Art Gallery in New Bern, N. C. Most of these photographs represent the beauty of eastern North Carolina and are large, often ranging from 3-6 feet wide. Only on a sizeable canvas or print can the viewer see intriguing details that would be overlooked on a smaller scale. If you are near New Bern or Washington, please stop by both galleries to take a look at my work. Many of the images are available for purchase. Also, my portfolio includes creative architectural and commercial images used in corporate websites and company advertising.
One of my profound joys in life is photography—I love the preserving of subjects that are thought-provoking, emotional, understated, beautiful, intriguing, conventional, unconventional, or unusual and presented in either traditional or unexpected ways. My enjoyment of photography is based on my perception of our world as well as an anticipated connection with the perceptions of others. In agreement with the great Ansel Adams, “I am addicted to the found object” discovered in my roamings that I hope strike enjoyable chords with viewers.
Please call or email me if you have any questions or comments about my works or photographic needs that you would like to discuss. I would enjoy your contacting me!
